BIG NEWS: National Building Inspector Qualification being developed
SAHITA has been approved by the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades & Occupations) to develop a National Building Inspector qualification. SAHITA is working with other stakeholders (NHBRC, LGSeta, municipalities, banks, NRCS and the private sector) to develop this important qualification – which should be finalised and approved in 2017.
In anticipation of this new Building Inspector qualification, SAHITA has again taken the initiative and funded a new non-profit organisation the National Association of Building Inspectors of South Africa – see www.nabisa.org.za for more details. All SAHITA graduates qualify for membership of NABISA.
This important new Building Inspector qualification will will provide training and assessment standards for the work done by private sector home inspection companies, the NHBRC inspectors and by the municipal building control officers.
