FAQ
Tuition for all of the SAHITA courses is entirely online. You study online at your own pace and given the time that you personally have available. You can fit your study around your job and your other obligations.
With all of our online courses there is a 20-question quiz at the end of each module. You need to complete and pass, with a minimum 80%, an online open book comprehension test after each module. For some of our online courses – the Certified Building/Home Inspector Course (30 modules) and the Property Condition & Risk Assessment for Insurers Course (21 modules) there are also assignments to be completed and submitted.
We have different payment plans available for our 30-module Certified Building/Home Inspector Course.
You can either pay a single fee of R24,999; or you can choose to pay per Semester (Semester 1 – modules 1-8 – R7,500; Semester 2 – modules 9-23 – R9,250; Semester 3 – modules 24-30 – R9,250) – total cost R26,000; or you can select a 3rd option to buy access to 3 modules at a time – at a cost of R2,799 per 3 modules – total cost R27,999.
Register and place your order online. You can pay by either bank transfer (EFT) or by using a South African Visa or Mastercard. As soon as you pay you can start your studies.

Although it is feasible to complete one module a day, because of the huge amount of information contained in these modules, you will get more out of the SAHITA courses if you progress through the modules a little slower. Of course, this also depends on your personal background and how much building information the student already has.
- The SAHITA Certified Building/Home Inspector course is endorsed by the National Association of Building Inspectors of South Africa (www.nabisa.org.za); SAHITA certification qualifies you for NABISA membership.
- Many municipalities, inspection companies (such as Digicall, HouseCheck and Gauteng Property Inspectors) and insurance companies (such as Outsurance, Discovery and Nedbank) recognise the value of SAHITA training and use SAHITA to train members of their teams.

John was on the government task team charged with developing a national Building Inspector Qualification and John also lectures building inspection to University of Johannesburg students.
- The new Building Inspector qualification will trigger huge opportunities for qualified inspectors within the South African building inspection industry.
- SAHITA is a key stakeholder in shaping this qualification and the curriculum has already been approved by QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations).
